Privacy Policy

Summary

CraftedCalcs is a static website that does not require accounts and does not sell user data. This policy describes the limited data collected when you visit, including session-recording analytics (Microsoft Clarity) used to improve the site's usability.

What we collect

• Basic server logs (via Cloudflare): IP address, user agent, page accessed, timestamp. Used for security and aggregate analytics. Retained for 30 days.
• Behavioral analytics (via Microsoft Clarity): we use Microsoft Clarity to record anonymized session interactions — mouse movement, click sequences, scroll behavior, page navigation — and to build aggregated heatmaps and rage-click reports. Clarity sets cookies, transmits the recorded data to Microsoft for processing, and assigns a non-identifying session ID. Microsoft's tooling masks sensitive form inputs (passwords, credit-card fields) by default; we do not store or transmit your calculator inputs anywhere — calculations run entirely in your browser. Data collected by Clarity is governed by Microsoft's Privacy Statement. See "Your choices" below for opt-out paths.
• Advertising cookies (if ads are present): third-party ad networks (Google AdSense, in the future Mediavine/Raptive) may set cookies for ad personalization. You can opt out — see "Your choices" below.

What we do NOT collect

• No account system, no passwords
• No calculator inputs are stored or transmitted — all calculations happen in your browser
• No email addresses unless you voluntarily email us
• No location data beyond country-level (for aggregate analytics)
• No health or financial data — CraftedCalcs is not a YMYL site

Third-party services

• Cloudflare (hosting + CDN + server-log analytics): their privacy policy
• Microsoft Clarity (session-recording + heatmap analytics): see Microsoft's Privacy Statement. Clarity sets cookies and transmits anonymized session data to Microsoft.
• Google AdSense (when live): Google privacy policy. You can adjust ad personalization.
• Google Fonts (font delivery): no cookies, no tracking — just font files.

Your choices

• Use browser-level privacy tools (Do Not Track, private browsing, ad blockers) — CraftedCalcs works fine with all of these. Microsoft Clarity respects the Do-Not-Track header by default, so enabling DNT in your browser opts you out of session recording.
• Opt out of Microsoft data collection sitewide at Microsoft Privacy Dashboard (covers Clarity and other Microsoft services).
• Opt out of ad personalization at Google Ads Settings
• Request deletion of any data we hold about you via our feedback form (select "Privacy request" as the type)

GDPR and CCPA

If you are in the EU/UK or California, you have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of any personal data we hold. Because we collect very little (mostly aggregated and transient server logs), in practice we rarely have identifiable data to provide. Submit any privacy request via our feedback form (type: "Privacy request") — this routes directly to our editorial queue and we will respond within the timeframes your jurisdiction requires.

Children's privacy

CraftedCalcs is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
